Question: Does your website issue USA visas?
Answer: No. We do not issue any visas. United States visa can only be issued by a U.S. Embassy or Consulate. USAvisa.com is a private website not affiliated with any U.S. Embassy or Consulate.
Question: How do I know
what visa to apply for?
Answer:
There are many different types of visas depending on the purpose of your visit.
There are two main categories being "immigrant visas" (e.g. K-1 Fiance Visa)
and "non-immigrant visas" (B-2 Tourist Visa or H-1B Work Visa). Some
non-immigrant visas can be issued for a very short period of time in the United
States (e.g. the C-1 Transit Visa,) or for several years (e.g. the H-1 Work
Visa). If you are not sure of what visa category that may apply to you, please
contact us or download the USA visa application
guide for more information.
Question: My passport has
expired but the US visa is still valid. How can I transfer it over?
Answer:
You cannot transfer it over. Simply travel with your new passport and your
old/expired passport with the valid visa. Show both passports upon entry to the
United States. Do not tamper or try to remove the visa from your expired
passport, as it will invalidate it.
Question: Can I have more
than one valid visa at the time?
Answer:
Yes, that is possible. You may e.g. be a student in the United States on an F-1
visa but also hold B-2 tourist visa. The importance is to clarify to the
immigration officer upon US entry the purpose of your visit and corresponding visa.
Question: I have passports
issued from different countries. Do I need to apply for a separate visa for each
passport?
Answer: No.
Select the passport you intend to visit the United States with and obtain a visa
for that passport only.
