Visiting the United States?
Are you planning on traveling to the United States on vacation, for business, or for medical reasons? There are two ways to enter the United States:1. Apply for USA Visa at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in your home or foreign country .
2. Enter the United States under the Visa Waiver Program. In order to enter the United States under the Visa Waiver Program, the applicant must be a citizen of a Visa Waiver country and hold a valid United States Travel Authorization.
About USA Visas
Most visitors to the United States enter with a USA Visitor Visa, which is normally valid from 1 up to 10 years at the time. A USA Visa gives the visitor the opportunity to travel to the United States and ask for permission to enter. It is important to understand that an approved USA Visa application does not guarantee that you will be granted entry at the U.S. border. However, most visitors are allowed to enter. Upon arrival at the U.S. border you will be asked a series of questions by an immigration officer. The questions are related to the purpose of your visit to the United States, the length of your stay, if you have enough funds to cover your expenses, and if you have a return ticket. It is important to understand that a valid USA Visa or an approved Travel Authorization is a requirement for check-in at airports and sea carriers.
